New Delhi : Former Delhi NCW chairman and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was reportedly manhandled at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, the BJP claimed on Monday. Amid reports of a PCR call made by Maliwal to the Delhi police, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva alleged that Maliwal was “beaten up” by Kejriwal’s PA and demanded an investigation into the incident.
Sachdeva stated, “On the orders of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his PA has beaten up Swati Maliwal. You can understand that the Chief Minister of Delhi, sitting at his home, first gets the Chief Secretary beaten up, and now he is getting women beaten up. The reason is simply that Swati Maliwal is known for being clear in her words and she asked some questions which Kejriwal did not like. I condemn this incident and demand an investigation into the entire incident. If such a thing happens to any woman, she should get justice.”
According to reports, the Delhi Police control room received two calls from Kejriwal’s residence, claiming Maliwal was assaulted there. The first call, received by the 100 emergency response centre at around 9:40 am, did not reveal the caller’s identity. However, in the second call, the caller identified herself as Swati Maliwal and accused Delhi CM’s PA of manhandling her.
