Ramban witnessed a disturbing incident on September 23, when two police officers were discovered lifeless inside their vehicle in Ziarat Morh, located in the Sana area of Batote tehsil. This grim finding came to light on a Tuesday evening, raising serious concerns within the local community.
According to reports from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), locals noticed the officers unconscious in a Fiat Linea car, registered under number JK-19/5299. The alarming scene unfolded around 8:30 pm, prompting immediate assistance from bystanders. They rushed the officers to the District Hospital Ramban, but medical personnel confirmed their deaths upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed (No. 408/Rbn) from Bhatti Ramban and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob (No. 309/Rbn) from Jatgali Ramban. Both officers served their duties at the District Police Lines in Ramban.
The bodies are presently at the District Hospital for the completion of necessary medico-legal procedures. The police have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
As of now, the precise cause of death remains unclear, leaving the police scrambling for answers to understand the events leading up to this sorrowful finding. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward as they piece together the details.
