Police Attach Terrorist Handler’s Property in Handwara

In a decisive action against terrorism, police on November 1, 2023, attached property belonging to terrorist handler Nazir Ahmad Ganai in Palpora village, Kralgund, Handwara. This move signals the police’s commitment to dismantling terror networks in the region.

A police spokesperson confirmed that this action stems from FIR No. 73/2011 filed at Police Station Kralgund. Investigations revealed that Ganai, currently based in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), has been instrumental in guiding and orchestrating terror activities in the Handwara area.

“Following due legal procedures and obtaining sanctions from the competent authority, police attached Ganai’s land in Palpora. This operation was conducted in the presence of police and revenue officials,” the spokesperson stated, highlighting the law enforcement’s adherence to legal frameworks.

Officials expressed that the attachment of the property underlines a determined stance to disrupt support systems for terrorism. This bold step helps curb unlawful activities and ensures sustained peace and security within Handwara.

The police urged residents to actively participate in maintaining law and order, emphasizing that those supporting anti-national elements will face strict legal repercussions. Community engagement is vital, and any information regarding such activities is encouraged to be reported.

This intervention by the police is not merely punitive; it aims to send a clear message regarding the consequences of involvement in terrorism. Police believe that disrupting financial and logistical support to terrorist operations is essential to ensure the safety of local communities.

Law enforcement agencies will continue to monitor the area and respond swiftly to any suspicious activities. Police also reiterated their commitment to transparency and legal adherence in all operations, ensuring that their actions reflect a balance between security and civil rights.
