A Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist, Parminder Singh, also known as Pindi, faces justice in Punjab after being extradited from the UAE. Punjab Police confirmed the development on Saturday, highlighting the highly coordinated effort to bring him back to India.
Parminder Pindi has strong connections with foreign-based terrorists, including Harwinder Singh, alias Rinda, and Happy Passia. The Punjab Police, led by Director General Gaurav Yadav, reported that Pindi had committed a series of heinous crimes, significantly impacting public safety.
The police highlighted Pindi’s involvement in petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortions in Batala, a town in Gurdaspur. These actions have raised significant concerns regarding terrorism and public safety in the region.
On September 24, police officials initiated action based on a Red Corner Notice (RCN) issued for Pindi’s arrest. Following this notice, a specialized four-member team, including a senior officer, traveled to the UAE. They worked closely with the Ministry of External Affairs and local UAE authorities to ensure swift action in extraditing the convicted terrorist.
In a detailed update shared on social media platform X, Yadav expressed satisfaction with the successful operation, stating, “We acted promptly upon the receipt of the Red Corner Notice from Batala police and ensured all legal formalities were met.” He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in tackling terrorism.
The extradition represents a significant victory for law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. Parminder Pindi’s return allows the Punjab Police to proceed with the necessary legal actions to hold him accountable for his crimes. The police will present evidence of his involvement in various criminal activities as they build their case.
As India faces rising threats of terrorism, the extradition of Pindi highlights the necessity of international collaboration in identifying and apprehending terrorists. Public safety remains a top priority for law enforcement, with increasing calls for stringent measures against individuals involved in terrorist activities.
Officials noted that tackling the menace of terrorism demands a comprehensive approach, including enhanced coordination between law enforcement agencies across borders to ensure a safer environment for citizens.
This operation serves as a reminder of India’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring that justice is served. Authorities continue to urge citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to assist in maintaining peace and safety.
