A 32-year-old accountant, Triloki Sharma, faces arrest after fleeing for nearly three years, accused of misappropriating around Rs 1.96 crore<\/strong> from his employer in Delhi. Authorities apprehended him in Jammu and Kashmir<\/strong> on August 4, 2023, following a sustained investigation by the Delhi Police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The owner of the private company where Sharma worked lodged a complaint at the Samaypur Badli police station in August 2023, triggering the police\u2019s inquiry. The owner claimed that Sharma siphoned off funds entrusted to him during his accounting duties.<\/p>\n

After allegedly committing the financial crime, Sharma evaded capture by going into hiding. The police formed a dedicated team to trace and apprehend him, intensively investigating his whereabouts over the years.<\/p>\n

Finally, they tracked Sharma to a factory in Samba district, J&K, where local police assisted in his arrest. During his interrogation, Sharma revealed that he had funneled portions of the stolen money into various bank accounts held by acquaintances.<\/p>\n

A senior police officer commented on the revelations, stating, “Sharma claimed he had a penchant for gambling, losing significant sums in illegal cricket betting.” Authorities are currently verifying his statements.<\/p>\n

The investigative team is now tracing the flow of the misappropriated funds to ascertain the total amount diverted and identify the recipients involved. This extensive investigation aims to clarify the complete financial trail of Sharma’s alleged scheme.<\/p>\n
