Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir Leader of Opposition and BJP MLA Sunil Sharma on Thursday slammed the state government over the alleged irregularities in tender allotments and flood relief efforts. While walking out of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sharma questioned the delay in submitting the loss assessment report to the Indian government following the floods in August.<\/p>\n
\u201cJammu and Kashmir suffered huge losses in the month of August. Due to floods, poor people\u2019s houses were destroyed, crops were destroyed, horticultural land was destroyed, structures were destroyed, livestock was destroyed, and people pinned their hopes on the Jammu and Kashmir government,\u201d Sharma said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMinisters of the Indian government came here for loss assessment. The Jammu and Kashmir government was asked to submit a report. The loss assessment report has not yet been submitted to the Indian government,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Sharma alleged that tenders worth crores of rupees were allotted in violation of guidelines. The opposition leader demanded a CBI probe into the matter and called for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n
\u201cA huge scam has been revealed today. Tenders worth crores of rupees have been allotted, violating all guidelines and to benefit a particular person. I\u2019m asking, who is the MLA from that constituency? Who is the minister from that constituency? Is he a close minister to Omar Sahib?\u2026 If you have any doubts, then you should refer it to the CBI. \u201cOmar Sahib promised jobs, cylinders, rations, and electricity. What did he give in return? A scam worth crores of rupees, and this is just a sample of one division\u2026 He (CM Omar) should resign over this issue,\u201d Sharma added.
