Stolen Motorcycle Recovered by Hiranagar Police; 11 Two-Wheelers Seized, Two Accused Arrested

Hiranagar, Kathua | June 19, 2025:
In a major breakthrough, Hiranagar Police successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle and seized 10 additional unclaimed two-wheelers during a recent investigation.

The action followed a complaint lodged by Kuldeep Kumar, son of Ram Nath, resident of Ward No. 3, Hiranagar, who reported the theft of his motorcycle (Registration No. JK08C2689) from the Hiranagar area. Acting promptly, a case was registered under FIR No. 88/2025 at Police Station Hiranagar, under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Upon initiating the investigation, a wireless alert was circulated, which yielded positive results. A dedicated police team from PS Hiranagar, led by Inspector Ashish Sharma and PSI Sadam Hussain, worked meticulously under the close supervision of SDPO Border Dheeraj Katoch, SP Operations Kathua Mukund Tibrewal (IPS), and overall direction of SSP Kathua Sh. Shobit Saxena (IPS).

The accused—identified as Dwarka Prasad, son of Khem Raj, and Shubham Jasrotia, son of Kulnandan Singh, both residents of Dhaloti, Rajbagh in Kathua—were apprehended. During questioning, they led the police to the stolen motorcycle, which has now been recovered and handed over to PS Hiranagar for further legal proceedings.

In a surprising development, 10 more unregistered or unclaimed motorcycles were also found in the possession of the accused. Investigations are ongoing to trace the rightful owners of these vehicles.

The local community has commended the swift and effective action of the Kathua Police in cracking the case and ensuring the return of stolen property to its rightful owner.
