June 19, 2025: In a significant political development, Congress leader Kajal Rajput officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in a ceremony held at the BJP Office Jammu. The move is being seen as a major jolt to the Congress party in the hilly area further consolidating BJP’s stronghold in the Bani area where BJP Candidate and Kajal Rajput both face defeat from an independent MLA Rameshwar Singh.
Kajal Rajput, who recently contest two elections (DDC and MLA) from Bani area on Congress mandate face defeat in both elections.Kajal was welcomed into the BJP fold by senior party leaders, who praised her decision as a “bold and visionary step” aligned with the aspirations of the people of Bani Kathua.
Speaking at the occasion, Rajput stated,
> “I have joined the BJP to serve the people more effectively and to work under the leadership that believes in development, nationalism, and transparency. The Congress has lost its connect with the ground realities, and I could no longer remain a part of a stagnant setup.”
BJP leaders described her joining as a reflection of growing public trust in the party’s governance model and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Viksit Bharat.”
