In a significant step towards enhancing last-mile service delivery, the District Administration of Kupwara established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the remote border villages of Block Keran today. The Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara virtually inaugurated these centres, enabling residents to access vital government schemes, digital services, and welfare programmes right at their doorstep.
The newly operational CSCs are located in the Gram Panchayats of Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo. This initiative aims to strengthen governance and deliver essential services directly to communities that often face challenges due to geographical remoteness.
This move follows a detailed assessment by a dedicated team that identified significant service gaps within the area. The establishment of these centres received support from CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, reflecting a proactive effort to bridge the digital divide and enhance accessibility for the local population.
Residents of the border villages can now access a multitude of e-governance services, including crucial public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion services, healthcare, and agricultural assistance. The centres will also facilitate various business-to-consumer (B2C) services, thereby fostering local entrepreneurship and enhancing economic activity.
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of promoting holistic development in border villages, aiming to eliminate the long travels previously required for basic services. By establishing these CSCs, the District Administration takes a significant step toward bringing governance closer to the residents of these remote areas.
Locals have expressed gratitude for these efforts, appreciating the District Administration’s commitment to extending digital services to the borders.
