LG Manoj Sinha Chairs Governing Body Meeting of SKIMS

SRINAGAR, June 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the Governing Body Meeting of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar today. This was the first meeting following the reconstitution of the Governing Body of SKIMS Soura, Srinagar.

The meeting involved extensive discussions on key aspects of patient-care services and granted in-principle approvals to various agenda items aimed at improving the overall functioning of this reputed health institution.

LG Sinha directed the concerned authorities to implement systemic interventions to ensure quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare services for patients. He emphasized the importance of procuring and maintaining all necessary medical equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.

“We must focus on a people-centred approach for accessible, equitable, and efficient delivery of healthcare services. We are committed to providing affordable access to public healthcare and building a healthy society,” the Lt Governor stated.

Members of the Governing Body shared their valuable suggestions and inputs on the augmentation of healthcare facilities at SKIMS.

The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor; Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Santosh D Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department; Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor; Dr. M Srinivas, Director AIIMS New Delhi; Dr. Rajiv Bahl, DG ICMR; Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Secretary, GAD; Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary, Health; and other members.
