Breaking News: China Bolsters Pakistan’s Defense Capabilities Along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir

KUPWARA, May 29 – Recent reports have highlighted China’s active involvement in bolstering the defense capabilities of the Pakistani army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir over the past three years. This assistance, ranging from the construction of steelhead bunkers to the provision of advanced radar systems and combat vehicles, underscores China’s strategic interests in the region.

According to officials, Chinese support includes the installation of highly encrypted communication towers and the laying of underground fiber cables along the LoC. Advanced radar systems, such as the ‘JY’ and ‘HGR’ series, have been deployed to enhance target detection capabilities, while the presence of the SH-15, a 155 mm truck-mounted howitzer gun, has been observed at various locations.

These developments are seen as part of efforts to strengthen China’s ties with Pakistan and safeguard Chinese investments, particularly related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The strategic move also involves infrastructure development in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including tunnel construction in the Leepa Valley.

In response to these activities, India has maintained vigilance along the border, with intelligence agencies monitoring the situation closely. While the Indian Army has not commented publicly, concerns have been raised about Chinese military presence in the region, particularly in Gilgit and Baltistan areas.

The Indian government remains committed to safeguarding its territorial integrity and thwarting any potential threats emanating from across the border. As tensions persist, continued monitoring of the situation is imperative to ensure regional stability.
